Here at Ben's Audio Restoration we service various equipment from all different brands.
How Repairs work:
I do not charge a diagnostic fee. If you are contacting me, I'm sure you have gear worth repairing, so a diagnostic fee is not necessary. Instead, you bring your unit to me and I keep track of my hours. I charge 50/hr. plus parts, The parts required for repair will be purchased and I'll give you the receipt. I don't mark up parts like a lot of the other shops do. My lead times are fairly reasonable mainly because I only have a few customers per week. But have a total of about 8 -12 units I'm working on at the same time. As I wait for parts I jump on other units and have good success at being pretty efficient. People generally bring me more than one unit at a time because I don't charge a diagnostic fee. While all this is great, I still have a day job everyday but get out in the afternoon so I have lots of time to work on gear, especially on the weekends. I am a business by appointment only.
